Fnatic toplaner Oscarinin seen using Discord during LEC draft, penalty may ensue

Fnatic toplaner Óscar “Oscarinin” Muñoz Jiménez was seen during today’s LEC broadcast using Discord. Here’s what the LEC rulebook says about it.

During the draft for the match that opposed Fnatic (1-4) to Team Heretics (1-4), Oscarinin was seen tabbing out to Discord to send a message as he was choosing his runes.  While he then proceeded to get a triple kill a mere 5 minutes later and win the game after a 40-minute brawl, Oscarinin might still get fined for being seen using a communication program.

The section 9.1.9 of the LEC rulebook says “It is prohibited to use league-provided computers to view or post on any social media or other communication sites”.  But while this rule may exist, when looking at the penalty record in Europe, it has never been used to sanction a player. Óscar Muñoz Jiménez has also never been fined before in the LEC ; meaning he would most likely only receive a warning.

The last fine recorded in the database was March 10th 2023 by MAD Lions’ AD Carry, Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság. League officials say he “failed to follow operational procedures”. The player only received a warning. The most frequent offense is the very broad “Conduct unbecoming of an LEC team member”, which Carzzy also received a warning for on the same day. The last player to be fined money for this reason was EXCEL’s Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu. He was fined 500€ on January 27th.
